Please help us rescue more dogs

Our rescue can only continue to operate with the support of people who care about Dobermans  Donations to San Antonio Doberman Advocacy and Rescue provide food, foster care, medical care and placement services for homeless dogs 

 

We need to raise money to pay for our operating expenses, chief among them being veterinary care  Currently we are not able to help many of the dogs referred to us who have a heartworm positive test  This is our priority when it comes to fund raising

SA/DAR is a non-profit organization  It is in the process of applying for its registration as a 501(c)3  organization. 

   

SA/DAR needs help in several areas  Among the things you can do are:

  1.  Transport a dog

  2.  Donate a dog bed or towels or other bedding type items

  3.  Donate MONEY

  4.  Donate a Kong? A nylabone?

  5.  Donate a crate

  6.  Donate an x-pen or baby gates

  7.  Donate a food dish or a stainless bucket for a crate

  8.  Donate a leash

  9.  Donate a collar

  10.  Donate some treats or a bag of food

  11.  Donate some grooming supplies (shampoos, combs, brushes, etc)

  12.  Make a few phone calls

  13.  Mail out application to people who've requested them

  14.  Drive a dog to and from vet appointments

  15.  Donate long distance calling cards

  16.  Donate the use of your scanner or digital camera

  17.  Donate the use of a photocopier

  18.  Attend public education days and try to educate people on responsible pet ownership

  19.  Donate a gift certificate to a pet store

  20.  Donate a raffle item if your club is holding a fundraiser

  21.   Donate flea stuff (Advantage, etc)

  22.   Donate heartworm pills

  23.   Donate a first aid kit

  24.   Provide a shoulder to cry on when the rescue person is overwhelmed

  25.   Pay the boarding fees to board a dog for a week Two weeks

  26.   Clip coupons for dog food or treats

  27.   Bake some homemade doggie biscuits

  28.   Host rescue photos with an information link on your website

  29.   Donate time to take good photos of foster dobes for adoption flyers,

  30.   Do home visits and screen owner applicants - your doggie experience would be priceless

  31.   Adoptathon coordinator - introduce the concept of rescue and educate J Q Public on the breed, and good dog care

  32.   Organize a tee shirt and sweatshirt sales for rescue fund raising

  33.   Transport dogs to the Vet or foster home

  34.   Be editor of their newsletter or develop public relations activities for rescue support and education about spay neuter etc

  35.   Recruit volunteers

  36.   Liasion with pet store for free  dog food

  37.   Liasion between your local breed club and the local rescue

  38.  Conduct a home visit or accompany a rescue person on the home visit

  39.  Go with rescue person to the vet to help if there is more than one dog

  40.  Have a yard sale and donate the money to rescue

  41.  Talk to all your friends about adopting and fostering rescue dogs

  42.  Donate vet services or  spay or neuter each year or some vaccinations

  43.  Interview vets to encourage them to offer discounts to rescues

  44.  Write a column for your local newspaper or club newsletter about dogs currently looking for homes or ways to help rescue

  45.  Take photos of dogs available for adoption for use by the Club

  46.  Maintain web sites listing/showing dogs available

  47.  Help organize and run fundraising events

  48.  Donate or loan a portable dog run to someone who doesn't have a quarantine area for quarantining a dog that has an unknown vaccination  history and has been in a shelter

  49.  Use your video camera to film a rescue dog in action

  50.  Pay the cost of taking a dog to obedience class

  51.  Be the one to take the dog to its obedience class

  52.   Offer to test the foster dog with cats

  53.  Pay for the dog to be groomed

  54.  Pay a house-cleaning service to do the spring-cleaning for someone who fosters dogs all the time

  55.  Lend your artistic talents to your club's newsletter, fundraising   ideas, t-shirt designs

  56.  Donate printer paper, envelopes and stamps to your club

  57.  Go with a rescue person to the vet if a foster dog needs to be euthanized

  58.  Go to local businesses and solicit donations for a club's  fundraising event

  59.  Help pet owners be better pet owners by being available to answer training questions

  60.  Donate or loan a crate if a dog needs to travel by air

  61.  Put together an *Owner's Manual* for those who adopt rescued dobermans

  62.  Provide post-adoption follow up or support
